We thank our partners in many countries for the financing of new mangrove trees, to meet their need for carbon offset with high value blue carbon. Contact us if you are interested in sponsoring a plantation or a conservation area in exchange for future Blue Carbon Credits.

Thor Heyerdahl Climate Park

This project has been implemented on nearly 2,100 ha of degraded lands at Pathein University’s Research Centre in Shwethaungyan, Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar. The lands that were restored under the project belong to Magyi, Thabawkan and Thaegone village tracts and this restoration created a healthy mangrove ecosystem.

MANGROVE LAND REFORESTATION
investment opportunity

Similar to the degraded mangrove land the Thor Heyerdahl Park was established on, there are several other areas in the same neighborhood that are waiting to be reforested. In 2020 Worldview started the plantation on a 6,500 ha available area that will deliver several millions of VCUs in its lifetime. The plantations will finish in 2022 – 2023 and there is still limited space to get involved.

GRASSLAND FORESTATIONS CRAB ISLANDS

In the Thaton area of Mon State, new islands have washed up as a result of large-scale deforestation further upstream. The grounds are fertile and ready to be planted. Together with a Korean consortium of companies and VNV Advisory in Bangalore, Worldview has structured a feasible way to finance the planting taking place in 2020 – 2021

MANGROVE CONSERVATION
protect the standing forests

Legislation is not enough to secure the future of existing forests. The local communities have an important role in keeping the forest alive. The WIF Conservation Project will reward communities with annual support for protecting the forest, based on annual Planet advanced satellite observation to monitor the extent of the forest to secure accurate conservation status. The reward will exceed short term economic benefits from cutting trees The project will in addition establish community energy forest with energy rich sustainable gliricidia trees and providing fuel saving stoves for all families in the project areas.
